This Privacy Policy explains how Carbon Connector (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit carbonconnector.com (the “Site”), contact us, or use our forms and embedded media.
a) Information you provide
Contact details and messages (e.g., name, email, company, phone, inquiry text) when you submit forms, request demos/consults, or email us.
Newsletter preferences and marketing consents (if you opt in).
Files or information you voluntarily upload or share.
b) Information collected automatically
Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, operating system, language, time zone, referring URL.
Usage data: pages viewed, actions on page, session duration, approximate location (country/region).
Cookies and similar technologies set by us or our service providers for essential functions, analytics, and marketing/embeds.
c) From service providers
Basic subscription/engagement data from HubSpot (form submission timestamps, email opens/clicks if subscribed).
Aggregated analytics from Google Analytics (page views, session metrics).
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the age required in your region). If you believe a child provided data, contact us to delete it.
We use information to:
operate, secure, and improve the Site;
respond to inquiries, schedule demos/consults, and provide requested materials;
analyze Site performance and prevent fraud/abuse;
send service updates and (if you opt in) marketing emails;
comply with law and enforce policies.
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases include: legitimate interests (website operation, security, analytics, B2B marketing), consent (for non-essential cookies/marketing), contract (responding to requests), and legal obligations.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site (e.g., pages viewed, session metrics, device/browser, approximate region). Google may set cookies. We enable IP masking/anonymization where available.
Controls: use our cookie banner to manage Analytics cookies or install Google’s opt-out add-on.
We use HubSpot to power forms, manage CRM records, and send emails to subscribers. HubSpot may set cookies to remember preferences and measure engagement. Data you submit via forms is stored in HubSpot so we can respond and keep records.
Controls: you can opt out of marketing emails anytime via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
We embed YouTube videos to display content. Loading a page with an embed may allow YouTube/Google to set cookies or collect viewing data. Where possible, we use privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) until playback.
Controls: manage Marketing/Media cookies in our banner or block third-party cookies in your browser.
We embed Reddit posts/comments for context. When you view a page with a Reddit embed, Reddit may set cookies and receive technical data (IP, device/browser, page URL) to display the embed and measure engagement.
Controls: manage Marketing/Media cookies in our banner or block third-party cookies in your browser.
We use the following categories of cookies:
Strictly necessary (always on): security, load balancing, basic form delivery.
Analytics: Google Analytics to measure Site use.
Marketing/CRM: HubSpot forms, email measurement.
Marketing/Media: YouTube and Reddit embeds.
Through our cookie banner, you can Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Customize by category. Your preferences are stored for 12 months and can be changed via the Site footer (“Cookie settings”). You can also control cookies in your browser.
We share information with:
Service providers acting on our behalf (hosting/CDN, analytics, security, CRM/email, form processing). These providers are contractually limited to processing data per our instructions.
Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.
Business transfers if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or reorganization (your privacy rights will remain protected).
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Our providers (e.g., Google, HubSpot) may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses and provider certifications/commitments.
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above (e.g., responding to inquiries, maintaining records, meeting legal obligations). We then delete or anonymize it according to our retention schedules.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
access, correct, or delete personal data;
object to or restrict certain processing;
data portability;
withdraw consent (where processing relies on consent).
To exercise rights, contact hello@carbonconnector.com. We may need to verify your identity.
California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the “sale”/“sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests at hello@carbonconnector.com.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use up-to-date devices and unique passwords.
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect children’s data.
Links and embeds from third parties are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Review those policies separately.
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes. For material updates, we may provide additional notice (e.g., banner or email).
