Refrigerant Leak Detection + Asset Tracking

Your refrigerant is leaking. Your asset data is broken.
We fix both.

Operators are losing money and compliance ground on two fronts: slow leak detection that misses events for hours, and asset records so dirty that every audit, CMMS migration, and capital plan starts from scratch.

— Refrigerant Leak Detection as a Service

Your leak detection is missing leaks.

Most facilities run aspirated systems that sample one zone at a time on a timer. By the time your detector cycles back to the leaking zone, you've lost refrigerant for hours, sometimes days.

AKO works differently.

We install sensors inside every zone simultaneously, monitor 24/7 from the cloud, and alert you in 60 seconds. Not 4 hours.

Every zone is always being watched

Aspirated systems leave 15 of 16 zones unmonitored at any given moment. AKO sensors read every zone every second, so no zone ever waits its turn, and concurrent leaks are never missed.

Goes live without touching your network

AKO runs on NB-IoT dedicated cellular. No customer Wi-Fi, no firewall rules, no PCI-DSS review, no IT ticket. Most installations are live within a day of sensors going in.

Nothing to maintain between annual calibrations

No pump to test, no tubing to clean, no filters to replace. Passive diffusion means no moving parts: just a sensor that reads and a cloud that watches. It just works.

Our team sees what your sensors see

AKONET.Cloud monitors every zone 24/7. Alerts go out before your staff notices anything: SMS, email, dashboard. EPA Section 608 documentation and audit-ready reports are generated automatically.

The certification your auditor actually asks for

AKO is UL-listed and EPA Section 608 compliant. Covers every refrigerant in your system today (HFC, HFO, A2L) and the ones you'll migrate to under the AIM Act. Profiles are updatable post-installation.

Faster than a standard aspirated system.

Bacharach's default zone hold is 15 minutes per zone. A 16-zone supermarket completes one full cycle every 4 hours. AKO detects in ~60 seconds, from any zone, simultaneously.

Questions facilities teams ask about
leak detection
.

Straight answers based on sources we use in the field, including Bacharach's own manuals and MSA Safety whitepapers.

Yes, and we’ve been conservative. AKO detects in ~60 seconds (accounting for the IP68 membrane’s diffusion delay). Bacharach’s default cycle is 4 hours = 14,400 seconds. 14,400 ÷ 60 = 240×. The 4-hour figure is in Bacharach’s own manual and is not disputed.

The AKOGAS Universal NDIR covers HFCs (R-404A, R-448A, R-449A), HCFCs, HFOs, and A2L blends (R-32, R-454B, R-452A). A dedicated CO₂ detector is available for R-744 systems. Profiles can be updated post-installation as your portfolio changes.

AKO uses passive diffusion — the sensor is directly exposed to ambient air inside the refrigerated zone. Refrigerant molecules migrate naturally through molecular diffusion and air convection to the NDIR sensor, which reads gas concentration continuously. No pump, no tube, no cycle.

No. AKO uses NB-IoT cellular — a dedicated IoT network connecting directly to the cloud without touching your Wi-Fi, LAN, or BMS. No firewall rules, no PCI-DSS implications, no IT security review. AKO goes live without involving a single IT ticket.

Site survey, hardware, installation, AKONET.Cloud 24/7 monitoring, annual calibration, EPA Section 608 compliance reporting, and ongoing support — all included. NB-IoT connectivity means zero IT involvement on your end.

AKO detectors are UL-listed and compliant with UL 60335-2-40. Both HFC and CO₂ models meet EPA Section 608 monitoring requirements for commercial refrigeration systems in the USA.

— AI-Powered Asset Tagging App · iOS & Android

Your asset data is wrong.
And everyone is working around it.

Technicians skip fields. Names get made up on the spot. The same unit gets tagged three different ways by three different people. By the time the data reaches your CMMS, it's already useless for audits, capital planning, or AI tools.

Tag Wizard fixes this at the source. One picture. We do the rest.✨

One photo is all your tech needs

Tagged, untagged, faded, or damaged. Tag Wizard's AI reads it. If the nameplate is blocked or too dark, voice entry fills it in. Nothing gets skipped, nothing gets made up.

Missing fields resolved, flagged when uncertain

The AI fills gaps from equipment libraries and context at 99%+ confidence. Anything below that is flagged for your review before it saves. You get accurate data, not confident guesses.

Every tech, every site. The same naming convention

Tag Wizard normalizes every asset to your taxonomy automatically. No more three different names for the same unit type. Your CMMS gets consistent data from day one, regardless of who does the tagging.

The Rosetta Stone of asset data

Tag Wizard translates between field technicians, compliance requirements, and your CMMS schema, so every system speaks the same language.

EPA & AIM Act compliance, built in

Refrigerant type, charge amounts, technician info, service dates — captured at the point of tagging. Four AIM Act profiles assigned automatically. Audit-ready from day one.

10.8×

Faster than manual asset capture.

A controlled field benchmark — not a sales claim. Same client, same two technicians, before and after Tag Wizard. 33 assets/day became 357 assets/day. A 32-week project finished in 7 working days.
  • Tagged assets — barcode & QR scan
  • Untagged — AI reads the nameplate directly
  • Worn or faded labels — still extracted
  • Blocked or dark — voice entry fills it in
  • Missing fields — LLM resolves from context
  • Output — CMMS-ready, any schema

From field technicians to COOs: here's what comes up most before teams start their first pilot.

Your technician takes one photo of any asset — a nameplate, barcode, QR code, or even a worn label. Tag Wizard’s AI reads it, fills in missing fields using equipment libraries and context, normalizes it to your taxonomy, and exports a CMMS-ready record. The technician’s only job is the photo.

For heavily worn or damaged labels, Tag Wizard uses voice entry — the technician describes what they’re seeing, and Tag Wizard fills it in. Nothing is lost, and nothing is fabricated: fields below 99% confidence are flagged for human review before saving.

Tag Wizard is CMMS-agnostic. The export pipeline maps columns to any schema. Your asset data belongs to you, is AWS-hosted, and is always portable. Switch CMMS vendors without losing your history.

It’s purpose-built for HVAC/R: deep refrigerant taxonomy, EPA and AIM Act compliance fields, pre-loaded specs for thousands of equipment types. It also works well for data centers, commercial kitchens, and any facility with dense mixed-equipment inventories.

A controlled field benchmark: same client, same two technicians, before and after Tag Wizard. Manual capture: 33 assets per day over 32 weeks. With Tag Wizard: 357 assets per day over 7 working days. The math is 357 ÷ 33 = 10.8×.

Tag Wizard is priced per seat. Monthly at $20/seat, annual at $120/seat, and annual team plans (100+ seats) at $10/seat per month with priority onboarding. A free pilot is available: no commitment required to start.

AKO Tag Wizard
— Why Carbon Connector?

Two problems the industry has been patching around for decades.

Most leak detectors were built before anyone thought to connect them to the cloud.
Most asset records are still filled in by hand, in a parking lot, after a long shift.
The problems aren't new — the tools to fix them finally are.
01

Leaks that should take 60 seconds to catch are taking 4 hours

Your current detector checks one area at a time, on a timer. While it moves through the rest of your facility, refrigerant keeps escaping. Higher energy bills, equipment running harder than it should, and a compliance violation quietly building. AKO puts a sensor in every zone and watches all of them at once — no timer, no gaps, no waiting.
02

Your detector isn't even in the room where leaks happen

Most systems sit in the machine room and pull air samples through tubing. By the time a leak travels from your walk-in to the detector, concentration has dropped — or the cycle has moved on. AKO sensors live inside the refrigerated zone itself, where the refrigerant actually is.
03

Your equipment list is wrong and everyone knows it

The same unit gets a different name every time someone tags it. Fields get skipped. Serial numbers get misread. Nobody goes back to fix it — they just work around it. Tag Wizard captures everything correctly the first time, from a single photo, so the list you rely on for budgets, audits, and repairs is actually accurate.
04

Your asset records shouldn't be hostage to your CMMS

When you switch platforms, you shouldn't have to start over. Tag Wizard keeps your data in a format you own, stored where you control it, exportable to any system you move to.
05

Compliance paperwork shouldn't be built the night before an audit

Refrigerant logs, equipment records, service histories — these get reconstructed from memory far too often. Both AKO and Tag Wizard capture what they need at the moment it happens, so there's nothing to piece together later.
